Name: Feather Fin Synodontis
Max Size: Feather Fin Synodontis, scientifically known as Synodontis eupterus, can grow up to a size of around 10 inches in length.
Water Parameters: Feather Fin Synodontis prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions. Maintain the water temperature between 72-82Β°F and a pH range of 6.5-7.5. They appreciate clean and well-oxygenated water, so proper filtration and regular water changes are important.
Diet: Feather Fin Synodontis are omnivorous and have a varied diet. They will accept high-quality pellets or flakes as their staple food. Additionally, supplement their diet with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and small crustaceans. Include some vegetable matter in their diet as well.
Temperament: Feather Fin Synodontis are generally peaceful and can be kept in community aquariums. They are known for their gentle and calm nature. However, they may become territorial during breeding or when kept in smaller tanks. Provide them with ample hiding places and territories to minimize aggression.
Tank Setup: Provide a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding spots using rocks, driftwood, and caves. Feather Fin Synodontis appreciate areas with dense vegetation and open swimming space. Maintain a sandy or fine-gravel substrate to mimic their natural habitat. Adequate filtration and regular water changes are important for their well-being.
Compatibility: Feather Fin Synodontis can be kept with other peaceful fish species in a community aquarium. They are generally compatible with other catfish, tetras, barbs, and non-aggressive cichlids. Avoid keeping them with overly aggressive or fin-nipping species.
Behavior: Feather Fin Synodontis are known for their unique appearance, with long flowing fins that resemble feathers. They are primarily nocturnal and will spend most of their time exploring the aquarium bottom in search of food. They are relatively peaceful and can be observed peacefully coexisting with other tank mates.
Fun Fact: Feather Fin Synodontis are popular among aquarists for their elegant appearance and peaceful demeanor. They are excellent scavengers and help maintain the cleanliness of the aquarium by consuming leftover food and detritus. Their distinct finnage adds a touch of beauty and grace to the aquarium, making them an appealing choice for hobbyists.
Perhaps the best store on island to get freshwater fish. They have a huge variety, including higher end freshwater fish (discus, puffers, flowerhorns , oddballs, ect) Iβve stocked a few tanks with their fish. They quarantine well and keep it real on how their fish are doing in shop.

Had a great experience here. I was looking for a unicorn/alicorn betta and spoke with the owner, Josh, about it. I ended up using his fish importing services to import a fish from Jakarta, and he brought in a few more white opaque or unicorn type half moon bettas too, to add to the variety in store. I got a sneak peak of the store while it was shut down for one week for a proper quarantine of its new fish. The owner knows his fish and keeps them healthy. A very different experience from a Petco or PetSmart! A Petco employee even recommended I go here for more unique betta fish. Note that they carry other types of fish too, plus Aquatic plants and some aquarium equipment. Pictured are some of the giant bettas, the alicorn betta, and i believe a beautiful ram.

Wonderful shop with lots of variety. Has the most unique selection of fish on the island, and at a reasonable price! Staff is friendly and very helpful when we have questions or concerns. Love coming here and seeing the jokes around the store. Also, Vinnie!

The owner, Josh, is not just knowledgeable about the fish, but also plants and tank issues. I am new to fish tanks and he has been extremely helpful in answering my questions and offering suggestions to make my experience easier. Parking is a bit tricky, but certainly worth it.

They have rare plants you can't find at most places. Got lucky we got a few; my husband is happy. This is one of his favorite places. They get pretty busy, so be patient. The staff are very helpful.
