Care Level: Moderate to Difficult
Recommended Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate or aquarium soil
Recommended Lighting: High lighting
Recommended Temperature: 72-82Β°F (22-28Β°C)
Max Plant Size: Up to 20 inches (50 cm) in height
Foreground, Midground, or Background?: Background
Need CO2?: Yes, strongly recommended for healthy growth and vibrant color
Fun Fact: Red Myrio is known for its finely feathered, red to copper-toned foliage that creates a soft, cloud-like appearance in aquascapes. Itβs a favorite in high-tech planted tanks for its dramatic color and delicate texture.
Appearance: The plant features thin, whorled leaves that resemble fine underwater feathers. When grown under strong light and with CO2, it turns a vivid reddish-orange, adding a striking contrast against green plants.
Habitat: Native to Southeast Asia, commonly found in slow-moving or still waters where light penetration is strong.
Aquarium Use: Ideal as a background or accent plant in high-tech aquariums. Its fine texture and vibrant color make it popular in Dutch-style layouts and aquascapes needing a splash of red.
Care: Requires stable, clean water, high lighting, CO2 injection, and regular fertilization. It is sensitive to poor water quality and low nutrients, which can lead to melting or loss of color.
Propagation: Propagated by cutting the upper portion of the stem and replanting it into the substrate. Frequent trimming encourages bushier growth.
Note: Due to its care requirements, Red Myrio is best suited for experienced aquarists. When grown successfully, it becomes a stunning centerpiece in any aquascape.
Perhaps the best store on island to get freshwater fish. They have a huge variety, including higher end freshwater fish (discus, puffers, flowerhorns , oddballs, ect) Iβve stocked a few tanks with their fish. They quarantine well and keep it real on how their fish are doing in shop.

Had a great experience here. I was looking for a unicorn/alicorn betta and spoke with the owner, Josh, about it. I ended up using his fish importing services to import a fish from Jakarta, and he brought in a few more white opaque or unicorn type half moon bettas too, to add to the variety in store. I got a sneak peak of the store while it was shut down for one week for a proper quarantine of its new fish. The owner knows his fish and keeps them healthy. A very different experience from a Petco or PetSmart! A Petco employee even recommended I go here for more unique betta fish. Note that they carry other types of fish too, plus Aquatic plants and some aquarium equipment. Pictured are some of the giant bettas, the alicorn betta, and i believe a beautiful ram.

Wonderful shop with lots of variety. Has the most unique selection of fish on the island, and at a reasonable price! Staff is friendly and very helpful when we have questions or concerns. Love coming here and seeing the jokes around the store. Also, Vinnie!

The owner, Josh, is not just knowledgeable about the fish, but also plants and tank issues. I am new to fish tanks and he has been extremely helpful in answering my questions and offering suggestions to make my experience easier. Parking is a bit tricky, but certainly worth it.

They have rare plants you can't find at most places. Got lucky we got a few; my husband is happy. This is one of his favorite places. They get pretty busy, so be patient. The staff are very helpful.
