Fun Fact: Ludwigia Repens is one of the easiest red aquarium plants to grow. Depending on lighting and nutrients, its leaves can range from green and bronze to orange and deep red, making it an excellent choice for adding color without requiring a high-tech aquarium.
Appearance: Ludwigia Repens produces oval leaves arranged in opposite pairs along upright stems. The upper leaves can develop orange to red coloration under stronger lighting, while shaded growth tends to remain greener.
Aquarium Use: Excellent for the midground or background, especially when planted in groups. Its warm red and orange tones provide an attractive contrast against bright green aquarium plants.
Propagation: Easily propagated through stem cuttings. Trim healthy stems and replant the cuttings directly into the substrate. The remaining stems will often produce new side shoots, creating bushier growth.
Note: Regular trimming encourages branching and helps Ludwigia Repens maintain a dense, compact appearance. Stronger lighting and consistent nutrient availability generally produce the best red coloration.
